Happy Easter Everyone! 🙂
I hope you got to find some hidden eggs and cheer up with an Easter Bunny like I did. The bunny you see on my earring was distributed to all InterNations Brunch Lovers by Andreas, the group consul. He said it’s from his favorite charity, but I didn’t have a chance to hear more about his charity that morning.
In fact, I have a lot to catch up on with Andreas. So first I sat at his table and was about to settle down there. But suddently I felt a lonely heart calling me at the next table… Well, he wasn’t really calling me; in fact, he was looking down and eating alone at a large table.
So on an impulse I moved to his table and left Andreas while he was away… And when I joined the lonely heart, he cheered up. See his smiling photo below. 🙂 His name is Heiko.
Gradually new people kept joining our table and we became 5 of us. And each of us had different stories to tell about oneself… But there was one thing in common among us and that was the fact that we didn’t have our families with us in Frankfurt to spend the Easter together. So we all had risen up that morning and come to where we belong–InterNations.
For me the saddest thing is to spend a public holiday alone… But unfortunately, as an expatriate moving around different countries, I faced that fate a lot. And fortunately, in all the cities I lived, I knew one place where I can go and get warmly welcomed by fellow members, and that was InterNations.
The venue we had the Easter brunch get-together was an interesting place. Previously it was an oil factory and now at nights, it’s a disco place for people over 40-years old… And one day I wish to come here again at night and check out the disco scene.
My favorite spot at the venue was this nice fireplace. Wish I could sit by it and read a book…
The food was Russian-style. I felt like I was back in Moscow at a Yolki Palki restaurant.
In the venue description, Andreas called it a “hidden gem” and the entrance truly looked like a hidden gem.
And it has a nice sitting area outside and I wish to come back here again on a warm sunny summer day.
And that was my Easter celebration and I am glad that I didn’t stay alone at home all day. 🙂
